People claim that the Horde is nothing without its Warchief and that it's current leaders are "pitiful". Yet the current leaders are what have made the Horde what it is and how strong it is in the first place. "But they want peace." They've always wanted peace that's their goal.

They are literally inches away from peace and like always it's going to be taken from them. And you've got people who'll say the Alliance and Horde are now the same. Quite the opposite. They're still very different and now it's the Alliance with a single leader in charge.

Ofc Thrall always wanted a safe home for his people. And even if it is frustrating for some like me that have some "hatred" against the other faction ( i have the same same issue with anduin being too forgiving ) but thinking about it its logical that people dont want to 1/2

Saurfang was honorable but everything else you said was mostly on-point. Yes, Saurfang admits he wasn't honorable but the guy's actions spoke louder than his words. Most of Varok's deeds were in fact honorable and good.

I suppose there are several ways of achieving peace. 1) Not being confrontational. 2) Negotiation & compromise. 3) Conquest & assimilation. 4) Extermination. Historically, the Horde has rarely opted for option 1 or 2. e.g. 1st/2nd/4th Wars for starters.

Thrall and Vol'jin were the most successful and best at these check-points. However, outside forces usually led to causing conflict that couldn't be properly resolved normally. Once those two were out of the picture and replaced with Sylvanas or Garrosh it became harder.
