I wouldn't call SL gameplay or even lore bad. Story is just at a standstill, like chapter one. There's a lot of unresolved things to deal with. At least I don't have to deal with the "BLUE MEAN TO US. YOU GUYS SUCK" kinda vibe that BFA gave...well often(And vice versa etc etc)
I honestly didn't mind the Alliance vs Horde narrative in BfA when it was done right. I honestly think it started to get really good with Dazar'alor but unfortunately, it ended rather quickly after that.
Its just a problematic storyline because eventually there's gonna be a halves and half not situation(One side is getting ass beaten and look bad and those players are gonna get annoyed and such, vice versa). And while it doesn't need to go to Teldrassil levels..blizz likes it
That's something that isn't exactly going to go away and has been a thing not just in BfA but in all of WoW's lifetime. Factions win. Factions lose. What will never happen is a Faction being dissolved.
