I don't know what it is about Shadowlands but I am just not as excited as I was during BfA. Probably blasphemous I know, but I'm just not jiving it as well. People always question why I like BfA so much and it had a lot to do with its themes, characters, and environments. I liked being back on Azeroth and the AvH storylines. It had a lot of what I liked about WoW the only patch being the exception was 8.3. --
-- And 8.3 was only bad in my eyes not because of corruption (though that was shit) but because of how it felt rushed and how it handled N'zoth. Had 8.3 not been rushed and fleshed out, BfA in my eyes would've beat Legion in terms of story.
Gameplay will never be the end-all or be all for an expansion for me. I'm raiding again in Shadowlands (and having fun) but gameplay has never piqued my interest that much. So if a game's gameplay is bad I usually don't care. But if a game's story is bad that's another story.
