And Rokhan just doesn’t fit as chieftan of the Darkspear at all and his completely random and jarring rise to power within the extent of an expansion after years of neglect shows just how clearly unprepared the writers were to axe off Vol’jin.
Rokhan earned his title as Chieftain of the Darkspear throughout his actions of BfA and through the years. He's the leader they need right now. Him being Chieftain is a positive and good thing.

Ok, but like, do you not think it was a little rushed to have him show up as major character for the 1st time in years and then become leader of the Darkspear offscreen all within the same expansion? Dude doesn’t even have a unique model yet.

Compared to how Vol’jin had 2 expansions of building up to his eventual rebellion against Garrosh, uniting the Horde to depose a tyrant, and becoming its Warchief having earned the unanimous respect of all its leaders.
