I don't think Baine or any of the other leaders are going to go home until everyone else is saved. That and lore-wise they might not be able to leave like the Maw Walker can.

Well, they never went back either. If I recall Bolvar said it himself that once you pass into the Shadowlands there is no telling if you can come back. Excluding game mechanics and the Maw Walker of course.

Thrall has so many dead people he could see again it's honestly staggering at how many close friends and family figures he's lost compared to the others.

My guess is that if they go back there's a big risk that Sylvanas will just sent more mawsworn kyrian to abduct them again, so for now they're safest in Oribos under the protection of the forces there

That could be another reason. Plus they could always send in some form of messenger (aka the Hero) to let the Alliance and Horde know how things are going or how they're doing.
