One thing I've noticed is the Lich King is very ice-themed and thus far the Maw and Maldraxxus where he gained/drew his power from has little to no winter or ice involved.
Kind of curious how that all adds up.

I've been thinking about that too, while imagining my death knight founding the house of frost. There's been no blood themes either. Just plagues.

Maybe, but I don't think so. Looking at the scourge you can see that maldraxxus heavily inspired it. Like Nerzul saw visions of Maldraxxus and based the scourge of that. So the frost may just be rooted in the arcane and Nerzuls elemental history.

Blood may just be a hold over. Added before they considered where necromancy came from but if I had to fit it in. Blood is a waste product for undead. Mastering it allowed dks to kill faster, remove the waste, and sustain themselves.

I mean there is the WINTER Queen...that's it, I have nothing else to add. Although, it may just be Icecrown. Cold usually refers to death in some way, and the moon symbolizes decay in other instances. But I'm probably just grasping at straws at this point.
