One thing I've noticed is the Lich King is very ice-themed and thus far the Maw and Maldraxxus where he gained/drew his power from has little to no winter or ice involved.
Kind of curious how that all adds up.

I think that's due to the ice that the Nathrezim trapped Nur'zhul Lich King in, or it's at least involved.
Maybe, but we've never seen the Dreadlords as far as I can recall use ice that much either.

It was described as ice that came from the Twisting Nether. But as seen in Maldraxxus, Liches do use ice magic. So perhaps there is a sort of basis there.

Ahh yeah I forgot about the fact Liches used that type of magic in Warcraft 3. So maybe it did originate from Maldraxxus again. I was gonna piece together that maybe that's what he "inherited" from the Winter Queen's realm but Ardenweald also lacks snow.
