One thing I have noticed is the lack of Horde and Alliance in Shadowlands as a whole. Obviously, it makes sense but already it's starting to show for some people. It was the same in Legion (at least for me), then in BfA people wanted Factions gone. Now we're back to square one.
I've become an advocate for the Horde and Alliance to work together more (both in Lore and in PvE) but there is definitely a risk of removing them altogether. I think MoP and Wrath probably handled it best by having them come back and disappear throughout the expansion.

Realistically they really can't. The Horde and Alliance are very tall pillars for Warcraft and if you start knocking them down people are not going to like that. I think at most we're seeing them push them away for the moment.
. I'd rather we were nations to stand beneath as we fight together than factions to be forever enemies. Bury old hatreds, build. Give us a new continent to found: raise a section of the seafloor & give us a Tame the New World xpac.
I'm not entirely against the Horde and Alliance still being at odds and fighting brekaing out. Stories of that can still be told and still be interesting if done right. But the two factions working together like at the Wrathgate (minus the bloodshed) would be great.
Yep I just want to use Dylan to actually play with my horde friends rather than making a Horde character.
I personally hope they lesson the restrictions both in lore and in mechanics. Let us group up with horde, perhaps let us choose whether or not we allow the other faction in our guild. Perhaps have some way where we can earn the ability to go to the other sides cities.
