One thing I have noticed is the lack of Horde and Alliance in Shadowlands as a whole. Obviously, it makes sense but already it's starting to show for some people. It was the same in Legion (at least for me), then in BfA people wanted Factions gone. Now we're back to square one.
I've become an advocate for the Horde and Alliance to work together more (both in Lore and in PvE) but there is definitely a risk of removing them altogether. I think MoP and Wrath probably handled it best by having them come back and disappear throughout the expansion.
Lack of Horde and Alliance... It's beautiful. Perfection.
Not for everyone. And specifically not for me either. Definitely should be a middle ground so that both sides get what they want rather than just the one. As stated they did it well in previous expansions like MoP and WotLK where they were around just not in your face.
Even if not everyone agrees with it, for me, Warcraft IS about Horde and Alliance. Working together, fighting each other... I love both factions and was happy to see BFA coming with how poor it was in Legion. I'm missing it and I fear we will have to wait 2yrs to see some of it.
I feel that quite a bit too. Horde and the Alliance are what makes this game and the number of people who want that aspect gone are wrong in that sense.
It's honestly why I'm enjoying ShL right now, because the Horde and Alliance conflict is non existent for the most part. I'm burned out from it in BfA and I desperately needed a break from Horde vs Alliance. Tbh I want them to focus on ShL worldbuilding.
And I think there's only so many times they can write about us the two factions hating each other again. We literally just had a plotline about breaking the cycle of war, it'd feel so abrupt to have even the most minor of skirmishes while trying to fix the machine of death. Imo.
I can understand the conflict between the factions being the spine of the story. I’m just burnt out on them coming together, then being at each other’s throats next week. I think there’s a better way to display the tension between them. (cont.)
(cont.) I think the Alliance vs. Horde storyline and politics, should almost be a side storyline, UNTIL a major conflict takes place. (Ex. MoP, and BfA). On that token, Horde can’t be the only lore reason for starting wars either. Alliance needs to be dirty sometimes to.
It's like when will people make up their minds? You want a Faction war that has the Alliance do shadily stuff or not. It's like a cycle of going back and fourth.
