SPOILERS! Watched the Sylvanas cinematic and honestly didn't dislike it. Didn't get the impression some of my friends got at all from it. There's definitely wiggle room for them to do exactly what people are afraid of but ultimately I don't think that is what they're going for.
SPOILERS some more: Basically what I think they're setting up here is Sylvanas is still very much a villain for the time being and is still working with the Jailer. Of course. BUT later down the line, Anduin will convince her she's wrong and MAYBE put her on a better path.
Continued Spoilers: As long as it isn't "Sylvanas was a good gal all along" I think I'll be fine with it. If it's "Sylvanas realizes her mistakes and does something good because someone else convinced her" I'm honestly down.
There's so many ways they can go about this and there is definitely the chance they'll screw it up. But currently, I don't feel that way *YET*.
I think you just defined a worse ending than my worst ideas.
The worst ending is Sylvanas was right and Saurfang was wrong for doubting her leadership and her quest. Here at least she'd admits she was wrong and screwed up and has to fix things. Ideally, I would just want her to be a big bad who fails but that's unlikely.
