Ahh, I forgot about counting the opening. I was mostly referring to the Zandalar storyline as a whole and didn't include it. What starts BfA is definitely a lot weaker and controversal than SL's if we're talking on that front.

Okay then, the horde attack the civilian town of Brenndam and kill a bunch of people in extremely brutal ways. And they specifically target it because its a trading post that feeds the zone. Literally not a military target in the slightest.

I wasn't including the Alliance's leveling at all on that front either. I've said it countless times that the Alliance part of BfA is by far the weakest and is definitely lower than SL's leveling. I keep saying Horde BfA Leveling for that reason alone really.

Well its not really fair to make this distinction if your problem with Bastion or Maldraxxus is about the story, because we're comparing expansions, not slices of cake from each one that are exactly what we want. That's not exactly a fair comparison.

That'd be like me saying oh I love BfA because it has Jaina's arc while ignoring that I despise every other part of it.

I typically do have the habit of really only talking or taking in the good but if the good outweighs the bad then that's typically how I go along with something. Vice versa if the bad outweighs the good. It's why BfA got hurt a lot by 8.3 in how I overall felt about it.

I donno my original point was that I don't see how its a fair criticism to call a zone's story poor because it makes you feel uncomfortable. Not only is that seemingly the point of Bastion, but plenty of other zones do the same thing and I'm only seeing this argument now suddenly

It's different from the normal zone story which is the hero shows up to kill all the things and then comes out the victor, like Vashj'ir, where the ending is just that you lose. In and of itself, that makes it interesting alone.

Well with Vashj'ir you did have the dungeon to wrap everything up nicely (excluding Neptulon getting captured which gets resolved in Legion). Bastion it seems everything is wrapped much later in your campaign.

The dungeon ends with Ozumat stealing Neptulon away and capturing him, to be fair.

Right but you do deal with the Naga Leader and drive out the Old God forces from the realm.
