Definitely strange. But I am guessing the Jailer/His Faction promised to actually hear them about when their Archon wasn't. Very much gave me that impression at least. They were easily manipulated with their fury of emotions.

Yes but Devos is aware. I was being vague as to not spoil but Devos' entire problem and why she defects is that The Purpose is flawed and forgetting our memories isn't a good thing. So then she immediately swaps to wanting to destroy all reality? That doesn't make any sense.
