I think Nathanos would have benefited as a character if there was one other person he liked outside of Sylvanas. Nasty man needed ONE friend he mutually enjoyed. Not the player, just one, possibly equally nasty friend for Nathaniel.
Would've been interesting if Nathanos and Saurfang actually became friends just before the War of Thorns. Would add just a little extra spice and interest. Maybe would have Nathanos doubt himself a little - or add further anger to Saurfang's betrayal of his lover.
