Potentially unpopular opinion? I really loved the tons of different Scenarios from Mists of Pandaria. I thought they were not only fun, but interesting storywise, and an cool alternative 'quest'-like event style. I wish we kept that system.

I loved the Scenarios and was astonished that the community didn't feel the same. I honestly was hoping Island Expeditions was going to be the next step for Scenarios. But instead was a step backwards.

I do like how they did use the Scenerios going forward to tell unique and interesting stories that the player could expirence privately on their own. So at least it's not totally gone. I just wish they allowed you to que up for them again in the form of a "Storyteller".

Because Mists of Pandaria was probably the 1st expansion where a solid MAJORITY of its lore was new, I really loved doing all the different Scenarios to get all the new little story bits. Sure they didn't matter a ton to the overall story but it was really solid world building.

Islands are fine, in my opinion. They suffered from the same hate that Scenarios got back in the day - people hated them because they thought they “had” to do them. Back in MoP, it was common for people with long kick timers to go AFK in scenarios, it’s less common for islands.
