I hate how Kael is being characterized in Shadowlands, they’re making him seem like he was always arrogant and stupid and his main motive was always vengeance, but everything he did was for his people’s survival, he didn’t care about vengeance, he was a bit stupid but still a-

cunning powerful mage. His main motive for joining the Legion was he had little to no choice and he needed a source of energy for his people, bu in Shadowlands they’re making it seem he was an arrogant power hungry selfish prince who wanted their power to gain revenge.

He didn’t even care about vengeance, especially after his meeting with Arthas at Icecrown, Arthas kept insulting him but he didn’t care and kept shooting back at him and disappeared when the battle began to turn and he believed he bought Illidan enough time.

They’re just retconning most of his personality from WC3, where he cared for his people deeply, to this selfish snobby prince. He said there would never be another king of Silvermoon and one of his dialogue options is “YOU ADRESS THE SUN KING”.

I dearly hope this is because of all dat anima and sins Denathrius is ejecting into him in Castle Nathria thats changing him and we revert it as the expac goes on. But knowing Blizzard writing it may not be the case. It’s like they’re writing him to suite their lore and not his.

How do they make a compelling character like Kael’thas go to “POWER MUAHAHAHA EVIL >:3 VENGEANCE”, I mean I still love him, but I want the WC3 him, not this new character
