I remember one time on the forums a guy once tried to argue that the human fanbase suffered more than the Night Elf and Forsaken fanbases because they never got revenge on Deathwing for Stormwind being temporarily busted up.

to be honest I think those are two groups of people. the "omg I don't want to be a hero I want to be a nameless adventurer" are just loudest on reddit
I'm in the middle of that whole front. I like being in the story but I don't want to be the center of the story (I.E. Heart of Azeroth storyline). MoP handled it best by just having us be skilled Veterans who take names and kick ass for our Leaders.

Exactly! I loved our little band of Veterans just chilling around & going on missions together while taking orders from our buddy Nazgrim/Taylor. Honestly, I was fine with us going on missions and being equals to the likes of Rokhan in BfA just so long as I wasn't ordering them.
