Did the romance between Jarod and Shandris in Wolfheart seem weird to anyone else? Like, his wife wanted to die in Darnassus cause Shandris was there and she knew he had the hots for her, and she was just cool with that? Personally I'd throw it out with Maiev's betrayal.

Blizzard kind of went on a spree of utterly annihilating anything and everything associated with Knaak's work there for a while when it became clear his worldbuilding was going to directly conflict with telling the story they wanted to tell about mortals defeating the Legion.
I don't actually hate Knaak's work by any means but some of it definitely did more harm than good sadly. Especially for the case of characters like Maiev. Nobody wanted to see her go evil.

I like Knaak's DnD work, but unfortunately when it comes to WoW he tends to overextend and worldbuild in a way that consistently leads to plot cul de sacs. Eg: Deciding to introduce the Old Gods as an ultra powerful group of beings that could kick Sargy's ass was a weird choice.

Feels same about Golden's work, either writers or devs change everything every expac. I think they both had to stay in one room and we would've get some cool story with good writing. Maiev was so cool. I liked to hate her

My issues with Golden's work are two-fold. 1: She tends to introduce interesting concepts and then destroy them before anything interesting happens. 2: She has a weird thing for introducing women in her stories and then fridging them in the most horrible way possible.

I doubt that's Kanack's fault. They surely ordered it. If I blame Kanack that the novel delves so little into maiev. Making it seem like she goes crazy why yeah. Without touching on issues like her relationship with Naisha and to the point of putting that she kills a Warden.
