Warcraft's Lore should never focus on the player(s) to any high degree. Garrisons and Legion Halls as prime examples. I dunno who is here for their character's story outside of RP (which is handled by you not a company) because I'm here for the Warcraft characters & their story.

I'm not just talking about players, I'm talking about the WORLD of Warcraft. The WORLD building. Establishing smaller characters. Showing why smaller characters are invested in things. Giving players to be invested in the stories and zones.

"focusing on a few but well-written characters". Well-written is debatable, but otherwise this is the exact story reason why so many of my friends quit this expansion. If the story only focuses on a handful of characters, and they don't connect to players, the players will leave.

I don't focus on the small characters you and your friends do/did clearly. They're not as necessary as say Thrall, Jaina, Baine, etc are to the story I care about. They don't make or break the entire story the other characters do. They're more like extras than anything else.

To be honest, even important characters didn't get established in BfA. How did the Horde leaders react to Sylvanas burning the tree? Were they happy, upset? The fact is, we saw little to no response to it at all. How did Horde civilians react? This is literally the only comment:pic.twitter.com/c1yDWWnDLD

Important Characters established in BfA: - Zekhan - Taelia - Zelling - Talanji - Katherine - Flynn You can hate BfA if you must but don't lie about it.

I meant we didn't see how almost any of the faction leaders were reacting to Sylvanas or Teldrassil. Which we didn't until quite late in the expansion. It was something everyone should have reacted to early or immediately, but didn't. It was glossed over. BUT

Those characters WERE there and present and doing things. But we didn't get to see their opinions, so the conclusion many were left with was "Well... does this mean everyone was OK with it?" Garrosh's arc had problems, but people at least reacted to things as they happened.

BfA is flawed. It's not perfect but the stories that it did tell I did end up enjoying. If you plucked out Jaina and Saurfang's stories from it I don't think it'd have legs to stand on sadly. MoP was extremely well done and well told but it too was hit hard by the players.

It's not remembered well now, but MoP actually had a REALLY bad launch, though 5.1 fixed like 80% of the issues. But a lot of players quit by then, so a lot of people left with an incomplete impression of the expansion.
