Taran Zhu was always a bit controversial, especially among Alliance players, but he was mad because he had an outsider perspective and his job was to be the leader of main militant faction of the Pandaren. So he makes sense, he’s stressed and doesn’t have time for nuance.
Taran Zhu was a well-handled character. Not only did he loosen up as you proved yourself but he still retained this level of, "I trust you but I also think you're gonna screw up again."

He was wrong, but he was just trying to manage damage control. He assumed the H/A brought out the Sha, and while they technically did, the Sha were coming anyway, the H/A simply forced the hand of fate. We only learned this from the Jade Serpent. But he couldn’t have known that.
