I agree with this. Though I will say the over reverence I get from NPCs in the Garrison has always freaked me out. “We hold a feast in your honor!” plz no
They handled it best in Mists of Pandaria. They treat you with respect but they also treat you like every other soldier in the crew. That's what I liked about MoP you were a Veteran of a special unit of Veterans sent to Pandaria. It was great.

I don’t know if you’ve seen this before, but this post’s part about Nathanos sums up why I don’t like him - his character was built up but has no payoff.
