That's all he does though. Besides sucking up to Sylvanas all he ever does is badmouth the player character. I think this would make more sense during Stormheim and if you sided with Saurfang or something. With Taran Zhu in MoP he did the same thing but he was justified.
And weirdly enough, people hate Taran Zhu more but think Nathanos is more interesting and cool because of it. I have to draw the line at that. Just because your character is different or does something others don't doesn't make them more interesting.

Taran Zhu is my favorite character from MoP besides Lorewalker Cho. But maybe I just like being mocked XD

Taran Zhu was always a bit controversial, especially among Alliance players, but he was mad because he had an outsider perspective and his job was to be the leader of main militant faction of the Pandaren. So he makes sense, he’s stressed and doesn’t have time for nuance.

Taran Zhu was a well-handled character. Not only did he loosen up as you proved yourself but he still retained this level of, "I trust you but I also think you're gonna screw up again."
