As much as I dislike Sylvanas as Warchief I cannot deny she still would've been the perfect leader against the Burning Legion. Plus she did ensure the Horde didn't die on the Broken Shore at least and got Vol'jin and mostly everyone out of there.

Yeah exactly. I just... why did all the leaders of the Alliance just DECIDE Anduin would be a good high king?? //cries softly

I assume Velen had a lot to do with it. Realistically I don't think anyone else in the Alliance would fight or claim the title back then aside from maybe Tyrande? I think it just comes down to the fact the Alliance Leaders like Anduin and believe in him.

It's because Anduin was already the Prince of the Alliance and dominant within the story. They even had a pre-destined prophecy where he'd lead the Alliance and Horde against an army of darkness someday. Don't turn it into one of "these" situations.

Well, I deleted my post because I didn't think it was worth bringing up two different threads of the same original post, but oh well. But it is one of "these" situations. It's not intentional, but a lot of the Alliance themes and stories do ring back to "outdated" ideas.

I think there's way too much focus on this in general. I don't honestly even see these characters as negative things simply due to their designs. I moreso focus on their characters and not what they look like.

Don't get me wrong - it's not intentional and a lot of older fantasy settings do it too, but it looks worse in Warcraft because it's a setting where there are many races and they're all supposed to matter, rather than just a single one... but then the Alliance story hyperfocuses.
