The thing that bugs me the most about WoW is that no one questioned the Alliance choosing / making a grieving 18 y/o their high king shortly after his father passed away. Why did no one question that?
I think there's way too much focus on this in general. I don't honestly even see these characters as negative things simply due to their designs. I moreso focus on their characters and not what they look like.

Don't get me wrong - it's not intentional and a lot of older fantasy settings do it too, but it looks worse in Warcraft because it's a setting where there are many races and they're all supposed to matter, rather than just a single one... but then the Alliance story hyperfocuses.

I mean for a while we had Varian Wrynn as the leader of the Alliance. Turalyon was MIA for a very long time until Legion. Lothar was an old man with grey hair. Realistically the only "blonde haired, white man" in WoW that is as prominent is Anduin and he's a good kid.
