I can kind of agree. But if you think about it, to some degree they all focused on how characters are reacting to Sylvanas. Personally, I want to see smaller characters saying why they are fighting and what matters in their limited view without making it about a major NPC.

I really don't care too much about smaller NPCs to be frank. I'm here to see what the Major Lore characters are doing and what they're up to. It's fine if it's both but if I have to choose one of the other Major will always top Minor in who it should focus on in the story.

I've been thinking about this, and maybe I misunderstand, but going by this logic, you would say that the Alliance Naz'jatar story is more interesting than the Horde one?

The Alliance and Horde Naz'jatar storylines are essentially the same. So no. There are minor differences, of course, but nothing major.

I asked because, generally speaking, the Alliance Naz'jatar focused more on the main cast, while the Horde focused more on the Unshackled. However, most I've talked to considered the Ankoan to be fairly generic and boring compared to the more personable Unshackled.

I've done both sides of the story and in the zone itself the Alliance and Heroes have the exact same amount of screen time. The only time this isn't the case is when Jaina goes to rescue Baine alongside Thrall, Shaw and Varok which for me was the highlight of the story.

There actually are divergences. In the intro alone, the A player spends time fighting with Shandris, while the H player goes alone and gets an ability. The roles aren't 1-to-1 either, as Jaina pretty much does everything in the A story, while the H story is more diverse.

In meeting the Ankoan, they don't really speak about themselves, but sort of act as a backdrop for Jaina to talk to Genn, while the Unshackled are much more active in conversation with the Horde characters. Curiously, there are also more A military quest givers than H had.

While in H, the only daily that isn't assigned by an Unshackled is the orc by the bounty board, but several A military NPCs can assign dailies. The H story is more about assisting the Unshackled, while the A story is more about Jaina with Ankoan and A military in the background.

I think it's telling that there were significant hints at Unshackled joining the Horde, but the same couldn't be said of the Waveblade Ankoan. I kind of still suspect Unshackled may have once been planned as an AR. It's nice that they at least show up in Durotar though.

I don't really remember the Alliance's differences from the story in Naz'jatar in comparison of the Horde. I just remember they start the same and end the same. Ultimately they're not that different to me in that retrospect.
