I really liked BfA. Overall the story was pretty good. I’m not sure why it gets the hate it does

Because of how poorly Teldrassil was handled. The devs repeatedly lied about the story in interviews. BfA contributed very little that MoP didn’t already. Worse still, the Horde had to wait 6 years to get the same development it already had. It was MoP 2: This Time We Mean It.

There are def parts of the story that weren’t my fav. Teldrassil was one, and Nzoth felt a little ham fisted, tbh. I felt like Azshara or even Sylvanas could have been the final boss of this expac. But overall I liked it.

So in WoD, they were going to start doing one expansion per year, but this proved impossible. But they already had general ideas planned out for future expansions... as a result: (cont'd)

Legion - Night Elves and Broken Isles Argus - Draenei homeworld with new profession items, an intro quest that is very reminisce of a new expansion with new plot threads. BfA - faction war N'zoth - Old Gods Don't be too surprised if Shadowlands seems to change halfway through.

Anyway. BfA left me feeling betrayed. I've gone from having criticisms to no longer even trusting WoW's writers. I think BfA has been the most damaging expansion. WoD was bad in a temporary way, but BfA's damage will last a lot longer.https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/i-feel-lied-to-post-bfa-version/596347/3 …

We're definitely different in regards to how we both view BfA and that's fine. I'm very well aware of the fact that I am the minority here - hence why this was a "bad take" zone.

I think it actually picked up around 8.2 despite the sloppiness, and I liked the Zandalari story, but a lot of people to be proud of being Horde, and this expansion did not deliver that. A lot of long-time lore fans disappeared forever this expansion.https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/horde-pc-shame-tally/49988 …

They honestly could have addressed the problems of the Horde by picking up where MoP left off instead of retelling it. I honestly feel like this expansion wasted my time in terms of Horde narrative. Especially considering how much attention was given to Horde NPCs who left.

The worst part is that the Horde won't be getting that development after this expansion either. We're going to get another WoD and Legion, and the Horde will remain a background entity. Meaning that this was the chance to tell a Horde story and it was wasted on Nathanos.

The majority of the Horde's story was focused on Talanji and Varok. Nathaniel really didn't get much of an arc or story he just got a bucket load of screentime. Hell, even Baine and Gazlowe got some love in this expansion.
