I wonder how community reception to a 'back to basics' WoW expansion would go, where the storylines are less linear. Would say, a raid in which you have to deal with a gnoll-kobold alliance feel underwhelming after handling the Jailer?

Well, Garrosh was using the Heart of an Old God (the most powerful one). I wouldn't say he was on the same level of power as say DW but neither was N'zoth in comparison to say Argus. All I'm saying is we don't need someone stronger than the Jailer but we do still need a threat.
Preferably if it is the Dragon Isles I would say that Galakrond or Chromatus would be the perfect antagonist(s) for that zone/expansion.
