I don't think they can just soft retcon the ending of the first film. What they could do is make it so Garona is forced to drop her role as Warchief early on. Given she wants peace it makes sense the Orcs and Gul'dan would not be okay with that.

I can’t imagine Paula Patton coming back, tbh. It’s maybe too cringey to talk about the details of, but if you watched the stream of the movie premiere, she didn’t strike me as being super invested.

Clancy Brown, Daniel Wu, and Rob Kazinsky all seemed invested in the franchise. I imagine the latter two would be easy to rehire. Ben Schnetzer didn’t seem invested, but apparently seemed to change his mind later on. The rest... *shrug*
