At the time Occulus was... sort of bad, at least around launch. It became much easier later, and now it's faceroll but people are stuck in bad memories. I personally dislike the forced wave-type dungeons like Violet Hold, Culling of Stratholme, and Black Morass.
I just didn't mind Occulus that much and thought it was super cool to mount up and ride on a dragon throughout the dungeon. But yes dungeons like Violet Hold suck eggs.
