I think it is fair ! Ban'orak and his son explore different afterlives that fit with their respective souls. My warrior will feel the presence of his deceased spouse, but he will find her nowhere, which gives an open windows to additional realms within the Shadowlands... ;)
I think there's a lot of tragedy you can write and do with characters who've died or are visiting the Shadowlands. An example is Ban'orak won't see his son in Maldraxxus as Ban will be going to Ardenweald when he's past on.

My main would probably go to Ardenweald when she dies. Her mom and brother are probably in Bastion. Her dad's in Revendreth, and if he's ever worthy enough to get out, he'd probably go to Maldraxxus. She's not that sad about her dad, tbh.

An interview with Steve Danuser implied that mortals in the Shadowlands don't always stay bound to one afterlife. "Her (Draka) and Durotan are in separate places right now, but maybe their fates would, down the road, lead them to find an afterlife that they can share together."
