Me before WoD: Orcs are okay. Me after WoD: *Angry about how Maraad painted the orcs in Lords of War. New appreciation for Orcs.* Idk. Maraad's stories of the orcs sat bad with me. I didn't see them the way Blizz painted them. I felt cheated in lore. Or maybe I'm wrong.
I think the point was that Maraad was a biased source that only viewed orcs as monsters. Plus it was before Orgrim/Thrall's time when the orcs were less savage and monstrous.
Yea. That's the way I took it, but it did make me upset that a lot of people rolled with it and decided "No. Orcs always bad!"
Over the lockdown, I did read "Beyond the Dark Portal" and Orgrim's actions made me really feel for them. How I read it, that the only way they'd know peace in this new world was to claim it. They didn't think they'd be accepted, but like they just wanted a place to have families
He saw his people slaughtered horribly and just couldn't deal. And yes the Orcs were on demon blood. Thing is Most Draenei that fought them aren't really aware of the manipulations of the demons. So from Maraad's POV he's Avenging his fallen Draenei.
I wish tweets had longer word counts bc I wanted to add that I understood where Maraad was coming from. My standing is more with ppl I know who don't see past those shorts to read into more lore about the orcs, and decide to stick to the guns of "Orcs were always bad!"
Well he did bring nuance when talking about frostwolves, acknowledging that they can be noble. He spoke of the clans histories, before the Legion happened
True but ultimately his overall view of the Orcs was negative. Excluding the Frostwolves, of course. That's not to say he's entirely wrong in how he feels considering what his people went through.
