A few people have bemoaned Shadowlands as an "asspull" because it's all new stuff, and I just... really do not get that. The past three expansions have been largely rooted in recurring themes and settings. The fact that Warcraft can make brand new lore bodes great for the series.
Mists of Pandaria was entirely new stuff and it was amazing. I'm partial to both the old lore and the new lore. And if MoP is anything to go on the new lore can be better. Shadowlands has a lot riding on it and so far I've been pretty impressed by it.
