I think people could save themselves a lot of grief when it comes to new xpacs if they set realistic expectations and kept perspective. Every time a new xpac is announced, all I see is absolute hate for the current xpac while the new content is hastily pushed on a pedestal

I remember coming into Shadowmoon Valley in the first few hours of WoD to a chorus of people ripping apart MoP from the tone of the quests to the raid tiers to the story, each chiming in about how much better WoD was going to be and how happy they were to be out of MoP

I too remember the now bizarre days where, "MoP was so garbage. I'm so glad to be out of it and playing WoD." Going into WoD I was excited and hyped and honestly wished it would be better than the previous expansion(s) I do that going into any expansion. But MoP was better.
