I think people could save themselves a lot of grief when it comes to new xpacs if they set realistic expectations and kept perspective. Every time a new xpac is announced, all I see is absolute hate for the current xpac while the new content is hastily pushed on a pedestal

In a twisted way I'm kind of glad WoD was after MoP because it did help certain people realize that MoP was a good expansion. I did wish WoD was better. Who doesn't? But MoP was treated extremely unfairly when it was current content.

It really was! I'm glad its legacy had been kinder to it. It was the xpac I personally was least excited about and the one I ended up liking most. I think that speaks volumes to it, but also maybe says something about the value of being pleasantly surprised

Yeah, it was bizarre, and of course I was LIVING as I quested through WoD because it was exactly the wish fulfillment I, as an orc player, had always wanted, but it's strange the hate people had for MoP at the end of the xpac. Tbh though they even did it at the end of Wrath

My guess is as they get burned out, they get more and more critical of the current content. But the thing that worries me the most are the ones who set their expectations SO high for what's coming and are mad about it hours into the launch
