I'd actually like smaller scale conflicts. Like maybe the Orcs and NE get into another spat about Ashenvale but the rest of the Alliance and Horde sit out because they don't want a 5th war. Give the nations a bit more autonomy.
I feel like they should step away from "Orcs and Night Elf conflict" what would be refreshing is to see the other races have a spat or two. Void Elves and Sin'dorei. Zandalari and Kul Tirans. Mag'har and Lightforged. I'd rather see these than Orcs vs Night Elves again.

I mostly say Allied Races getting some love and spotlights because I fear that after BfA and Legion that they'll be forgotten. Highmountain Tauren already feel like they've been forgotten about in the lore sadly.

I was afraid of the Ren'dorei getting discarded in the wake of High Elf customization, but Shadows Rising gives me hope there's more to tell there (good or bad). Mayla's absence lends credence to your point though. It seems odd to just have Baine represent both Tauren tribes.
