I'm on the fence about this article. There are pieces I agree and disagree with here, but ultimately a thought-provoking read.
I personally can never agree with the idea of abolishing the Factions altogether. Or having races from the Alliance flood over to the Horde (and vice versa) it would be awkward and odd. The best option would to just allow players to play together but for the Factions to remain.

The faction war should definitely take a back seat, but the factions themselves don't really have any reason to be abolished. They can exist without going for each others' throats.

I personally feel trying to compare "For the Horde" and "For the Alliance" to White power is a reach.

I’d love if they let the factions play together, form groups, and raid because in lore that already happens and it would be an easy way to less the faction restrictions without completely taking them out

Perhaps Blizz should semi kneel, and make a factionless server, for the few people that want it. Everyone is happy. But the one thing they shouldn't do, is gut the very thing WoW was built on.
