Say what you will about BfA's pre-event. It was messy, it was a gut-punch, etc. But the pre-event also allowed some really amazing RP events too. Really excited to see what the server comes up with on the spot for what is to come in 9.0.

infestation) I think prepatches need a good balance of both. BFA tried to go too heavy in the first, and lacked the second. Legion did a good balance of both, and so far shadowlands seems the same. Wod for example only did story, and it was... short and bad...

WoD's and MoP's (sorry MoP I love you still) probably had the worst pre-patches in the game's history. Didn't get to do either TBC or Wrath's pre-events but I did get to do Cata thru BfA. Cataclysm's is probably my second favorite with Legion being my most favorite.

WoD was by far the worst, followed by MoP, overall they had no repeatability they just had story, and it was rather limited, especially WoD.

MoP and WoD's pre-events were also way too dependent on if you read the books. Yes, I of course read them but not everyone is going to do that. And as much as I love the books I always prefer it when they show things more in the game.
