I don't think a character is interesting depending on whether they're good or bad. They're interesting on what they do or act in a story. A character that demeans you and is constantly berating you isn't fun or interesting to me. Sorry, Sylvanas and Nathanos fans.

You don't see the bad writing that Helya never once brings up what Odyn did to her in our fight against her? Never once tries to get us to question aiding him?
What you view as bad writing and I view as bad writing is different. I want Odyn to get his comeuppance too as much as the next guy.

Please, I'd love to hear your explanation for how Helya never once thinking to vocalize what Odyn did to her to anyone in the entirety of Legion is smart writing. Not even once.

That's not something I've ever thought about and it makes me go, "Huh that is weird she never did that." but it doesn't come off as "bad writing" to me either. Helya doesn't come off to me as the one begging for pity she comes off as the type to vent her frustrations on others.
