And she was asked by Anduin to go. Jaina was hoping her mother would give her a chance, as all mothers really should regardless of the circumstance. Thros is not a nice place that is going to make you perceive yourself as great and mighty. It's a realm meant to break you.
Jaina was basically at a point there where she was a terrified child in this bleak realm. She doesn't perceive herself as that by choice. Only through Katherine accepting her and loving her was she able to get out of Thros.

She hums the tone briefly not a full out a musical number. It's a song her father sung to her which makes her think of family and such (aka Tandred caught in the storm). Which she's then able to find and get them out of the storm thanks to said heirloom.
