I don't really understand how "Blatant jingoism and racial extermination can be forgiven under circumstances as long as it was in the name of patriotism" is a take you can go with, but sure.
If Garrosh did it for funsies or did it for himself it would be incredibly different. Instead, Garrosh did it for the Orcs. Now things start to go down the drain once we get into MoP where he starts doing it strictly for himself and his followers instead.

I'm talking purely about MoP when I say that he was a genocidal monster here, because I feel like excusing that for any reason so that he can have a redemption arc is the problem. Keep in mind I wish they hadn't turned him heel in MoP.

I think that there's a middle ground of what I want for Garrosh here. For example, in Shadowlands I don't want him to suffer for all eternity in the Maw. What I want is some apology (with Thrall) and a new path for him in the afterlife in Maldraxxus for instance.
