Y'know call me crazy, but I really don't believe Argus the Unmaker is such a crucial plot point for every little thing about Warcraft's world.
Archimonde get's foreshadowed by a toy & then get's summoned by Gul'dan by the end of 6.2. Really felt like they just wanted to prep us for Legion the build-up to him felt rushed. Kil'jaeden as the final boss TBC felt weird but then again the lore of TBC is WoW at its weakest.

Kil'jaeden is made even stranger as the final villain of TBC when you realize that he's the Lich King's creator (or because of Shadowlands his organizer I guess) and you fight the Lich King and the scourge in the next expansion. Really makes K'J feel a lot weaker.

Granted, in the Sunwell Kil'jaeden wasn't at his full power but it's still a very weird feeling to go from Kil'jaeden to the Lich King.
