I really wanted to like the sequel trilogy, but it just felt like two different directors were telling three different disjointed narratives that all felt like their own thing. I think the point of no return was when Palpatine's message was in fucking Fortnite and not the movie.
...Wait really? They put Palpatine's message in that shitty game instead of I dunno... a Star Wars game? Or better yet in a cut-scene? Maybe post it on Twitter to get the hype going? What the actual fuck.
And by cut-scene, I meant deleted scene. Whoops.
Yeah, literally the first time people heard Palpatine's message in the opening crawl - which is a MAJOR PLOT POINT OF THE MOVIE - was in Fortnite. And nowhere else. You literally had to play Fortnite to get key information for a Star Wars film.
That is the stupidest thing I ever heard. I still think Last Jedi is my least favorite sequel movie but that doesn't make Rise of Skywalker any better either. The Prequels and the Originals will always be my favorites. As well as the one-offs, Mandalorian and Clone Wars.
