I donno if I agree that telling us the jailer is the final boss in shadowlands is good or not. I'm not sure. I would personally prefer never knowing but at this point WoW has done it so many times that I can't actually be mad at it.

I don't think you need to always have a villain of an expansion be the focus of the entire expansion. It stifles the ability to have different flairs of storytelling. N'zoth was probably the MOST broadcasted as the last villain and was bad, but Argus and Archimonde were fine.
I really have to disagree with you on that. I think Argus and Archimonde were some of the worst villains of the entire expansion. There was absolutely no build-up to either of them. I felt nothing when they were killed/defeated besides disappointment.

Because they weren't expansion villains. There were no expansion villains in either of those expansions. They were just the LAST villain. Not all the expansions have an expansion villain. Very few of them do, actually. The Lich King and Deathwing are basically the only ones.

I'd disagree with that again & say that Garrosh felt like an expansion villain. Mainly playing an antagonist role in 5.1, 5.3 & 5.4 but still. I definitely didn't find Archimonde as interesting as say Gul'dan and I would've prefered an actual Burning Legion character over Argus.
