I know he hasn't, he still decided it'd be a fantastic idea to attack the Paladin Order Hall (which failed) and then attack the Red Dragons just to raise a corpse. Blizzard at least had the brains to make the Whelp slaughter non-canon but Bolvar deserves a broken nose.
A lot of that could be blamed on the Helm. Not sure if he really deserves that much ire for some of that too.

Bolvar does say that he tried to control hinself while wearing the helm but lost control sometimes in the Shadowlands intro

We now know that the Helm had more it's own dark influence. But in the end, it was still Bolvar issuing out these orders. He wasn't controlled by it.
