I like Illidan but he never really got to make a giant or big sacrifice nor really redeem himself in any big way. Which is ironic with how much Demon Hunters talk about sacrifice.

He gave up a lot, actually. His place in night elf society. His birthright as a powerful mage since he was born with golden eyes. Gave up being recognized as Malfurion’s brother and gave up the affections of Tyrande. He’s a true outcast shunned by his own people. And I’d say-

-being Sargeras’ jailer is a sacrifice in and of itself. He’s technically imprisoned with him. Even if he loves his job, he’s gotta be at it 24/7
