The start of Legion was our only real glimpse of a Sylvanas who cared about the Horde and its Warchief. And I know people are gonna hate me for this but I think it makes more sense that she faked those feelings to look good for her peers. She's super manipulative!
Like watching Sylvanas in Stormheim she very much channels what a villain would do. Her voice tone, her posture, her very own sentences. I'm surprised that I used to root for her honestly - but then again I thought she was doing it for the Forsaken and not herself.
They flat out describe Sylvanas, in her new role as Warchief, as her deciding if her people are more precious than her soul. They phrased it as a question, not a statement. Guess what? They're not. And people who paid attention knew that already.
I really think it makes more sense for Sylvanas to go down this route of caring for herself over her own people. I know it's super unpopular of an opinion but I liked that BfA and its finale of Saurfang revealing the snake that Sylvanas is.
