I wonder if people would be throwing their over Calia if she was a character since Cataclysm. Seems one of the issues is she's barely in the game and they don't feel like they need to read the books.

Yep same here, I’m all for change and characters dying as long it progresses the story, rather than being shock value.
Like y'all know how much I love Rexxar and if they killed him off I would obviously be upset or sad but if it was for really good storytelling? I'd be for it. I would be extremely, extremely sad though. (Please leave him alone Blizzard.)

Yes, if they kill Rexxar and leave poor Misha alone like Orkus and Kasha or Misha die, that would be too sad. also imo believe the only instance I would be okay with a characters death not progressing the story is if they lived a full life or they had nothing left for them lrwise
