Right? That always felt backwards to me
Something that always bothers me is if you make an Orc Hunter your starter pet isn't a wolf but it's a boar. Meanwhile humans over there are getting wolves. Orcs have always been depicted with having a wolf or worg by there side and it's so weird that they get boars instead.pic.twitter.com/HOZaJunJkR

I argue it's because the wolves in humans are no different than dogs, where the worgs for Orcs are a blood bond almost. So when you start off, you aren't quite ready for that bond yet.

That's probably it but you've still got plenty of wolves all over Orgrimmar. You'd think they'd have them somewhere in Durotar.

I guess it's because in Durotar there are no wolves, just boars. Remember when you are level 1 you are a green (LOLPUNS) fledgling hunter.

It's because of Durotar, where the orcs have settled themselves. Not a lot of wolves in the desert. That said, I think it would have made more sense for orcs to get wolves and humans to get big hunting dogs.

It's definitely a whole thing with Boars being more common in Durotar. But having a wolf instead just makes more sense to me given the bond an Orc has with a wolf is much more popular than some boar.
