Calia is to become the Leader of the Forsaken at some point people. It's better to rip that band-aid off now than later folks.

I'll name another thing, she's not Forsaken. Idc that they changed the meaning of the name to all sentient undead, the meaning of the name Forsaken is supposed to represent being rejected, being deserted. BTS outright points out that Calia is antithetical to this.
Calia isn't meant to embody the Forsaken's ideals - she's meant to the heal them. Those that were forsakenend by Sylvanas had nobody to turn to but her and she helped them out of their depressed funk. This is how I see Calia the leader that heals them - not wounds them further.

But why specifically Calia? The one who is the sister of the man that ruined their lives and damned them to unlife? Calia who hid away instead of being there for her people when they awoken and were looking for allies? It could be literally anyone else and have a better effect.

She's also the Daughter of King Terenas II who they loved. She was hidden by Faol and her family also supposedly died or were separated. The moment she reached out to finally help her people was the moment she herself perished. And still she strives to help her people.
