It should be noted as of BfA we are still in the dark where Aggra and children are. The cinematic "Safe Haven" Thrall tells Saurfang his family is "not far". I'm still in the camp they are buried, from some incident we have yet to see, but I guess we'll see in Shadowlands maybe.

Not really. From Safe Haven on Thrall has been depressed, regretful, mournful of his decisions and how they have impacted the Horde. Doesn't seem like someone whose family is still alive. Also Shadowlands is the afterlife, easy motivation to get Thrall involved if they are dead.

Thrall makes it pretty clear he's depressed about other things when talking to Jaina. I'm 100% certain that if his love ones were dead he would definitely talk to that firstly to Jaina.

Also Safe Haven, as soon as it was known assassins followed Thrall (assuming Saurfang was telling the truth) the usual instinct should be to find your family to ensure they are safe. He looked grim and somber, and fetched his new weapon from its hiding place...
