I think the problem was they didn't know where they wanted to go with her so they went back and forth between evil and good. And her usual evil behavior won out. They really should've just stuck with being antagonistic rather than heroic honestly.
I honestly don't have too much of a problem with her being evil or an antagonist in WoW the signs were pointing to her going that route since Cata. The problem I have is they keep turning around and making her good. I hope Shadowlands just solidifies it finally.

My thoughts on it are a little mixed. On the one hand, she can be a villain, and I won't have much of a problem with it. The biggest issue is I do not like the "traumatized woman evil, turns into the man who tortured her" route that sorta goes beyond a subjective analysis.
